TRADISI NGODOG DALAM UPACARA NEDUH DI DESA BUNUTIN, KECAMATAN KINTAMANI, KABUPATEN BANGLI

Abstract


Bali is one of the thousand islands in Indonesia. As a small island with a predominantly Hindu population, Bali keeps many exotic arts and cultures. Hinduism has three basic frameworks consist of: Philosophy (Tattwa), Ethics (Susila), and Ritual (Ceremonies). Implementation of yadnya ceremony by Hindus spread across various regions in Indonesia, there are differences between one region with another region, the difference is based on "dresta" (tradition or custom) which is the guidance on every activity undertaken by indigenous people in Bali from generation to generation. The implementation of Ngodog Tradition in Bunutin Village, Kintamani District, Bangli Regency is one part of the implementation of Yadnya deity because the most prominent in this ceremony is the worship and offerings to Dewi Sri (Goddess of Prosperity) as a form of gratitude and offerings to Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa in his manifestation as Bhatari Sri who has given fertility and prosperity for bunutin villagers. The results of this study show (1) Tradition ngodog ceremony is a guardian of all kinds of plants. The form of ceremony, among others: First, beginning with the holding ceremony neratas (nunas banyan leaves) which will be used in the tradition of ngodog. Furthermore, ngesaba dipelisan (nunas tirta) which will be escorted to the temple of Bale Agung. The third ceremony held Neduh Pura Pingit Melamba. The four villages (seka pitu) to Pura Desa make a stage for the ceremony ngodog, which is used to make a bamboo and the roof is made from the leaves of alang-alang. Furthermore, the trunks helped to create the memogue of godogan which will be used during the ceremony ngodog. (2) the meaning of the implementation of ngodog tradition are: the meaning of religion, the meaning of welfare and the meaning of cultural preservation. (3) Implications of the implementation of ngodog tradition among others
